What is the first book that you read and that you remember reading. Sounds easy at first but I couldn't answer it, no matter how hard I tried remembering. I do recall being surrounded by books as I was growing up. I used to pester my parents for books all the time. Every birthday party ended up with me being swamped by a sea of books that my friends' mothers had picked for me. The bulk would be classics followed by Enid Blytons. Someone would occasionally slip in a CBT book. Children's Book Trust, New Delhi, which published classic Indian tales and such other gems. What did I read when I was really young? Perhaps it was a giant fairytale book which were very common right uptil ten years ago. They had one story and illustrations covering half the page with the bottom half given over to the text. Does anyone remember them. Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio...I wish I had kept at least one to remind me of that time.
